Roadtrip 2023 Fall : Richland - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Henderson - Donkey Heaven - Sedona - Joshua Tree - Paso Robles - St Helena - Brookings - Seaside

Day 20 - Tlaquepaque: Día de los Muertos

There is nuthin' like lunch at Restaurant Rene on Dia. And Rene has really upped their game. Just for us.

We try a new lemonade infused with prickly pear.

Rene has moved to a Spanish style tapas menu - -and the result is superbe!

Russ receives a surprise all Saint's Day treat from a small fairy.

That's the lollypop fairy and her Mom. It's the first halloween treat I've received in about 50 years.

This fountain has been temporarily claimed as a Dia shrine.

It's possible to spend all afternoon exploring a single shrine - there's so much detail!

Even Lollypop Fairies get their picture taken.

The garlands in Patio Azul.

There's a business in there somewhere. Try to get in.

The Egggg Family watches the proceedings from above.

The offerings are clearly good to eat.

The harvest shrine is resplendent in its fountain.

The 3 icons.

Fashion Week Sedona is in full swing.

This guy has moved over to the other side of the parking lot from last year.

Just hangin' around......

Did we say Ella loves these things?

There are many panels where anyone can leave a memorial.

Frida has a new place of honour.

We shift back to red rock and cactus for a short promenade - just for Ella.

Sedona is relentlessly developing. That's a new something going in behind the Hyatt in Uptown.

ahhhh - happy back on my red rock trails - with my Sedona Fashion Week, All Saint's Day kerchief - of course.

The Team assesses Marg's Draw on a short excursion at the end of our day. This access to Marg's is right behind the Arabella - and it goes straight up from the parking lot until you reach the plateau.

Wendy made me make this picture. I don't think the Black Helicopters have found us just yet - they usually swoop down low when they know we are present - in a vain attempt to intimidate us. Not today - this appears to be a long-range sweep of the area. Good luck!
